Why Participate
The explosion of technology in schools has created a boom in student startups. The perceived “Gold Mine” of Silicon Valley and the dream to build the next Twitter or Angry Birds is driving the student entrepreneurship. Compared to the last generation where the typical startup was a “Summer House Painting Company”, technology has opened the doors to unprecedented opportunities. But is creating your own APP the beginning of a student’s entrepreneurial path or the end?
This session will focus on how teachers and administrators can begin to provide students with the skills to start and run a successful startup. It will cover how teachers with limited time and resources can kickstart a successful student run company, and how students can learn to avoid the pitfalls that cause over 90% of new businesses to fail in the first 2 years. Teachers will discover what resources are already available and who they can reach out to for support.

Who We Are
Oliver Page founded NutKase Accessories in 2011 when he was a high school student at St. Stephen’s School in Rome, Italy. Oliver took a gap year following high school to pursue NutKase and explore the world of entrepreneurship. Following a year at Lancaster University – School of Management, Oliver enrolled in Draper University – Silicon Valley and began a new adventure in California. Today Oliver divides his time between NutKase Accessories and new ventures in the UK, USA and Italy. Oliver often gives presentations to schools around Europe about his experiences as a student entrepreneur.
Ross Page, Oliver’s father and mentor has followed Oliver on his adventure acting as a “guide and mentor”. Ross grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and has started and ran successful businesses in Europe and USA. His background in finance and business development having worked at Morgan Stanley has given him the foundation for starting and running a successful startup. Having put two children through 12 years of International schools and been active in their education, Ross is well introduced to the challenges and opportunities that young students face today.
