Nowadays, in French-speaking Switzerland's public schools, a pupil gets access to electronic devices less than two hours a week because of a very low availability of the computers. At the same time, elsewhere, 1:1 environments are growing fast. What are the changes in teacher's work when he's working in a classroom where every kid has a mobile device connected to the internet in his hands ? We are conducting a research which has two goals : put to the test the ingredients of success in technology integration projects and measure the impacts of 1:1 environments on teacher's activity.

For these purposes, we are supporting a group of teachers involved in an iPad 1:1 project in private school Haut-Lac in Saint-Légier, Switzerland. For two years, we will help those teachers integrate technology in their teaching through technical and pedagogical training. At the same time, we will collect datas about their activity through self-confrontation, filming them in their classrooms and confronting them to the video of their activity.

In this session, we will present our project and the first results of an exploratory research made with four teachers working in 1:1 iPads environments in other private schools.
